hite Forest Springs University was founded in 1888. The founder of the school, Preston Springs, wanted to give the young adults who resided on the west side of the Potomac River educational opportunities without having to go into Washington D.C. to do so.
Over the years, it has become known for its Fine Arts and Business programs, attracting many people whose dreams were to become rich and famous. Although the talent pool in this school is phenomenal, it is also home to many DC area residents just looking to receive their desired degree and get out into the working world.
Besides academics, White Forest Springs University is also known for its athletics. Once it joined the Liberty Conference, the WFSU Lions have always finished somewhere in the top half of the rankings. The most notable sport at WFSU is football, proving year after year that they are a force to be reckoned with.
Major renovations for the school started in 1950, resulting in a newer, fresher looking school. Most of the buildings have been leveled and rebuilt, but it is the school's intention to keep as much of the "colonial" feel to the school as possible. The board and community are very proud of the area's history and want to make sure that stays in tact.
